Get to know Marnie Krause
my testimonyI grew up on a busy dairy farm in Wisconsin, yet my parents placed a priority on growing “in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (II Peter 3:18). We regularly attended church, and I went to a Christian school. While in high school, I repented of my sin and asked Jesus to be my Savior.
After I graduated from Bob Jones University, God placed me in a Christian school and church ministry with another family while they were preparing to go to Cameroon. During a furlough, they suggested I pray about homeschooling there. The Lord allowed me to teach missionary children in Cameroon for two years. He also gave me a burden for the African people as I became involved in their lives. Returning to teach in the U.S. for three years, I was thankful for the opportunity to challenge my students about missions, but my heart remained in Cameroon. A second trip there for the 2013–14 school year, followed by six months in a restricted access nation, solidified my burden.
I am currently enrolled in a language school in France where I plan to study through the end of April 2019. Once I have completed language training, I plan to return to Cameroon for my first term as a career missionary. After my first term, my furlough schedule will be found in this section. Thank you for taking the time to look at my webpage.
Where I'm Going
As the second largest continent, Africa is a land of great contrasts with large modern cities and thousands of small villages. Over 700 million people live on the continent of Africa, with a little over 22 million in Cameroon alone, many who are still bound in the darkness of sin, never having heard the truth of the gospel. I will be living in the west region, which has the highest population density, near the city of Bafoussam. Ancestor worship is the prevailing form of religion among the Bamileke people who preserve ancestral skulls to offer sacrifices to them. Each person is a soul, lost and dying in their sin, needing to hear of Jesus Christ. Believing God intends for me to serve Him in Cameroon, my goal upon returning is to be more heavily involved in reaching women and children for Christ within my local neighborhood, the village of Bandjoun, the Foumbot and Bafoussam areas where churches have begun, and in the many unreached villages. The need for workers is great.
What I'm Doing
My goal is to assist church planters and national pastors by:

40% Animistic
20% Muslim
EDUCATION
47.7 % girls & 56.7 % of boys attended primary school.
Educational funds embezzeled & frequently absent teachers.

30% have access to a tap water
30% have enough tables & benches
HOUSING
Housing shortage at least 70k units/year
Many people still live in thatched hovels of mud & wood
with no running water or modern facilities.
Robert Moffat, who arrived on the shores of South Africa in 1817, once remarked, “I have seen, at different times, the smoke of a thousand villages; villages whose people are without Christ, without God, and without hope in this world.” Many of the people of Cameroon are still bound in the darkness of sin, never having heard the truth of the Gospel. My burden is to carry that Gospel to the unreached thousands.
